Minto Dream Ends with Game 6 Loss at Home

The hopes of a Minto Cup in 2019 came to a sudden end last night as the A's dropped an 8-5 decision to the Burlington Chiefs in front of a season high crowd of 734 fans at the Jack #PackTheJack.

A's got behind 5-3 going into the third frame but there were no more miracle comebacks left in the tank as the Chiefs secured the win with a stingy defence and solid goal-tending from Drew Hutchinson.

Brayden Mayea led the A's in scoring picking up 2 markers on the night while Tyler Brown scored the most points with 3 helpers in the losing cause.

The boys in Double Blue had high hopes for a championship season in 2019  but as the season's team mantra #EarnedNotGiven indicates, Championships have to be earned and this year the A's came up short.

It will be extra difficult for our graduating players as they won't have a chance to wear the Double Blue again as they move on in their lacrosse careers in the Pros and Senior leagues.

Good luck to all our graduating players of 2019.

Thank you to all of of great sponsors, volunteers, supporters and our dedicated fans!. St.Catharines had the best attendance in the OJALL and most vocal supporters in the league!!

Good Luck to Burlington Chiefs as they face off against the Orangeville Northmen in the OJALL final. May the best team win and bring back the Minto Cup to Ontario in 2019.

A's Lose Triple Overtime Thriller in Game 2

The cardiac health status of the A's fans were tested last night at the Jack as the 500 strong braved the heat of the old barn and for their efforts were treated to an incredible heart racing game of lacrosse in a 6-5 triple OT thriller.

After falling behind 4-2 in the first two frames of Game 2 of the semifinal series against the Burlington Chiefs, A's pushed on in a tightly contested, physical match knotting the game at 4 entering extra time.

The Chiefs scored early in the first overtime period and appeared to have the game all but won with only 5 seconds remaining in the extra frame. Coach Steve Toll called a timeout and hatched a plan to get the tying goal. Pulling Nick Damude for the extra attacker, the Boys in DoubleBlue executed the plan to perfection, capturing the game tying goal with less than a second remaining in the OT period.

Carter Zavitz took the ball from his own end, raced up the floor and fired a laser-like pass to the awaiting Jake McNabb. McNabb unleashed his lethal shot and found nothing but net creating an explosion of cheers from the A's faithful.

Another OT period was played under sudden death but neither team could find the solution of the two stingy netminders; A's Nick Damude and Chiefs Drew Hutchison

Burlington's Luke Pilcher finally scored the game winner in the third overtime period tying the series at 1.

A's Jake McNabb picked up another hat trick and now has league leading 17 goals in the post season.

Zavitz had 1 goal and 2 assists in the loss

Kealan Pilon picked up 3 points, all helpers. Pilon is now tied for most points (26) in the playoffs.

Nick Damude was stellar between the pipes stopping 53 of the 59 shots fired his way.

Although it was a loss, all fans agreed that this was one of the most exciting games of the year and are already looking forward to Game 4 back home on Wednesday night for a 8:00pm start at the Jack. Come out and experience playoff lacrosse at it finest! #PackTheJack

Game 3 goes tonight in Burlington with a 8:00pm start at Central arena,

Let's Go A's!!. GO down the road and bring back the win!
